On October 7, 2023 Hamas attacked southern Israel in a vicious massacre that resulted in 1,200 deaths and 240 hostages taken to Gaza, effecting Israeli citizens from 40 different nationalities. This has resulted in an Israel-Palestine war which has claimed a further 14,000 Gazan lives, half of whom are children. The trauma caused by these events is incalculable.
Our guest is Orli Peter, PhD, a psychotherapist specializing in trauma treatment for victims around the world. You can read more about her in the Bio below. Our interview with Dr. Peter is in three segments:
In Segment 1, Dr. Peter describes the trauma that is throughout the small country of Israel effecting Jews, Muslims, Christians and Druze populations, and further discusses how this trauma has spread worldwide for holocaust survivors and Jews around the world.
In Segment 2, Dr. Peter describes the importance and effectiveness of brain scans and custom neurostimulation of trauma patients as one of the first steps in treating trauma.
In Segment 3, Dr. Peter outlines her emergency pop-up project Israel Healing Initiative seeking $100,000 to fund neuro-stimulation and trauma experts being sent to Israel to provided unique and much needed trauma treatment.

Dr. Orli Peter, Ph.D., a neuro and clinical psychologist, is at the forefront of Accelerated Psychology, a clinic located in Beverly Hills, California. Dr. Peter’s academic journey culminated in a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley, followed by three postdoctoral fellowships in clinical psychology, social psychology, and neuropsychology. Her dedication led to diplomate status in Clinical Psychology from the American Board of Psychological Specialties. Her expertise is deepened by her studies with pioneers in the field of Interpersonal Neurobiology, such as UCLA professors Allan Schore and Dan Siegel. This expertise allows her to effectively apply these principles in helping traumatized individuals regulate their emotions
Her certification in Homeland Security by the American Board of Psychological Specialties speaks to her expertise in trauma-related research and treatment. Her consultancy with the RAND Corporation on terrorism research demonstrates her commitment to understanding and addressing the psychological impact of traumatic events.
